Add a subtle motorcycle-themed detail to your next customisation project with this Shovelhead embroidered patch. Dark grey Shovelhead lettering runs across a black background, framed by a matching dark grey stitched border. The long rectangular shape and rounded corners give the name strip a clean, understated finish.

Its narrow profile works as a standalone accent on a suitable jacket, vest or bag, or as a text detail within a larger biker patch arrangement. The muted black and grey colour combination keeps the focus on the lettering rather than additional imagery.

  • Design: Shovelhead lettering in a rectangular name strip
  • Patch color: Black & dark grey
  • Size: 104 × 25 mm
  • Shape: Long rectangle with rounded corners
  • Border: Dark grey stitched outline
  • Style: Embroidered motorcycle-themed lettering badge
  • Application: Sew onto suitable fabric; iron on only if an adhesive backing is present and the garment permits heat application

Step-by-Step Iron-On Instructions

  1. Check the garment care label and patch backing instructions. Use this method only with an iron-on adhesive backing and heat-compatible fabric. Avoid coated or heat-sensitive materials.
  2. Lay the garment flat on a firm, heat-resistant surface. Position the name strip with the lettering level and both long edges flat.
  3. Cover the entire patch with a thin cotton pressing cloth. Switch off steam and choose a temperature permitted by both garment and backing instructions.
  4. Apply firm, even pressure without sliding the iron. Follow the backing's specified pressing time and temperature, covering both ends and long edges without exceeding garment heat limits.
  5. Let everything cool completely before gently checking the perimeter. Follow backing instructions for any repeat pressing, or reinforce the border with stitches.

Sew-On Option

Use a needle and thread suitable for the garment and stitch around the outer border. Secure the rounded corners and long edges evenly, avoiding unwanted pocket or lining layers. Sewing is an alternative for fabrics unsuitable for ironing and can reinforce an adhesive attachment where appropriate.

Care

Follow garment and patch backing care instructions. Check the attachment before washing, avoid scrubbing the embroidery and never place a hot iron directly on the design. This decorative patch is not protective riding equipment. Check manufacturer guidance before modifying technical motorcycle clothing.
