Step-by-Step Iron-On Instructions

1. Check the backing instructions and garment care label. Proceed only if heat-activated adhesive is present and the fabric permits ironing. Avoid heat-sensitive, coated and leather surfaces unless their manufacturer permits heat application.
2. Lay the garment flat on a firm, heat-resistant surface. Align the lettering upright and smooth the fabric beneath the full rectangle.
3. Cover with a thin cotton pressing cloth. Switch off steam and use the temperature specified for the backing within the garment's permitted heat range.
4. Apply the time and pressure specified by the backing instructions. Treat the centre, all edges and corners without sliding the iron.
5. Allow it to cool completely before gently checking attachment. Follow backing instructions if further pressing is required, or reinforce edges with stitching where suitable.

Sew-On Option

Secure the patch in position and stitch around the rectangular outer border using a needle and thread suitable for your garment. Keep the fabric flat and avoid catching pockets or unwanted lining layers. Sewing is an alternative for fabrics unsuitable for ironing and can reinforce adhesive attachment.

Care

Follow garment and backing care instructions. Check attachment before washing, avoid scrubbing the embroidery and protect the corners from snagging. Do not iron directly onto the embroidered face.
