Iron-On & Sewing Instructions
Check the backing before applying heat. Only iron on if a heat-activated adhesive backing is present and the garment care label permits ironing. If the backing is not adhesive or you are unsure, sew the patch on instead.
- Place the garment flat on a firm, heat-resistant surface and position the patch.
- Cover the patch with a thin cotton pressing cloth.
- Use a dry iron without steam. Follow the adhesive supplier's pressing temperature and time, without exceeding the garment's permitted ironing temperature.
- Allow the fabric and patch to cool completely before checking the bond.
- Stitch around the border for secure attachment, especially on frequently washed or worn items.
Do not apply heat to leather, coated fabrics or heat-sensitive synthetics unless their manufacturer explicitly permits it. Sew on when heat is unsuitable.
Care Instructions
- Follow garment and backing care instructions, choosing the gentler requirements.
- Where washing is permitted, wash inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle with mild detergent.
- Do not bleach, soak or scrub the embroidery.
- Air dry and avoid tumble drying.
- Never iron directly on the embroidery; use a pressing cloth.
- Check the edges after washing and reinforce loose areas with stitches.
