3. Cover the patch with a thin cotton pressing cloth. Switch off steam and select the temperature specified for the backing within the garment's permitted heat range.
4. Apply the time and pressure specified by the backing instructions. Work across the whole large circle as directed for the backing, covering the outer edge without sliding the iron.
5. Allow it to cool completely before gently checking attachment. Follow backing instructions if further pressing is required. Consider stitching around the edge to reinforce this large patch where suitable.
