Step-by-Step Iron-On Instructions

1. Check the garment care label and patch backing instructions. Proceed only if iron-on adhesive backing is present and the fabric permits heat. Do not iron leather, coated or heat-sensitive fabrics unless their manufacturer permits it.
2. Lay the garment flat on a firm heat-resistant surface. Ensure the full wing span fits the chosen area without crossing unsuitable seams, fasteners or pockets. Align the lettering and smooth the fabric beneath the shield and wing tips.
3. Cover the embroidery with a thin cotton pressing cloth. Switch off steam and use only the temperature permitted by both the garment and backing instructions.
4. Follow the backing's specified pressing time, temperature and pressure. Work across the wide design as directed, covering the central shield, lettering panel, wings and outer edges. Do not slide the iron.
5. Allow everything to cool completely before gently checking attachment. Follow backing instructions for additional pressing if needed. Reinforce with stitching where appropriate, particularly around the wing tips and pointed lower shield.

Sew-On Option

Use a needle and thread suitable for the garment. Secure the patch in position and stitch around the outer border, carefully following the wing tips, feather contours and lower shield point. Keep the fabric flat and avoid catching pockets or unwanted lining layers. Sewing is an alternative for fabrics unsuitable for ironing and can reinforce adhesive attachment on this wide patch.

Care

Follow garment and backing care instructions. Check attachment before washing, avoid scrubbing the embroidery and protect the wing tips and edges from snagging.
