Step-by-Step Iron-On Instructions

1. Check the garment care label and patch backing instructions. Proceed only if an iron-on adhesive backing is present and the fabric is heat-compatible. Do not iron leather, coated or heat-sensitive materials unless their manufacturer permits it.
2. Lay the garment flat on a firm, heat-resistant surface. Position the flames upright and smooth the fabric beneath the full length of the badge. Keep each narrow tip flat.
3. Cover the patch with a thin cotton pressing cloth. Switch off steam and select only the temperature permitted by both the garment label and backing instructions.
4. Apply firm, even pressure without sliding the iron. Follow the backing's specified pressing time and temperature. Work along this tall badge in sections as instructed, covering the shield, flame body and all projecting tips.
5. Allow everything to cool completely before gently checking the edges. Follow backing instructions for any additional pressing, or reinforce the outline with stitching where appropriate.

Sew-On Option

Use a needle and thread suitable for the garment. Stitch around the outer border, carefully following the long flame contours and lower shield curve. Secure the slender tips carefully while keeping the fabric flat. Avoid catching unwanted pockets or lining layers. Sewing is an alternative for fabrics unsuitable for ironing and can reinforce adhesive attachment on this large patch.
